Death of a blog

Just in case there was anyone left out there who cared, my blog "The OTHER Fiction of JackBauer24" is now gone. I will not be completing the story printed there, nor will I be re-printing it. This is due in part by lack of interest, and in part because I did not want to finish the story. If you are interested in learning the full reasons behind this deletion, as well as where I was going to take the story had I completed it, e-mail me at jackbauer2417@sbcglobal.net .

Sick

Well, I'm back to work at the library after a week off for sick. Still feel sick. Can't shelve books because of the damn dust in here. Having trouble talking; voice is fading in and out. Maybe I shouldn't be here.

Slow day

Having a slow day at work today. Not much going on.

The front door to the library broke, and the heavy metal swing arm is now hanging by very few screws. We had to shut down that entrance because of the danger the hanging arm presents. Thanks to this, we've gotten much fewer patrons than normal. They must figure that when they see the front iron gate closed, we're closed (despite the sign I hung that tells people to come to the back door).

Weather's real shitty around here. Snowy and foggy and just plain...well, shitty.

My mom's pretty sick right now. She caught some kind of flu bug and it's hit her hard. She had to take the day off work today. I'm gonna have to go pick up some medicine for her after work.

Got a speech to give tonight. For some reason, I'm not yet nervous about it. But trust me, when I give it, my hands will be shaking, I'll be sweating, and my stomach will be doing flip-flops around my ass.

Work all day tomorrow. :( But then I get three days off!! :D

Tireless work continues on 24: Altered Universe. Finally finished two scenes that were giving me trouble yesterday. I gotta pick up the pace if I expect to see this finished this year.

Just got an advance copy of the Episode III prequel Labyrinth of Evil. JOY!!!!!!!!!!!

Learning more and more every day that the patrons of our library are completely fucking insane.

But then, so am I.

Movie Quick Review: The Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again

The Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again (2004)
Starring Bill Engvall, Ron White, Jeff Foxworthy, and Larry the Cable Guy.

Anyone who has seen Blue Collar TV probably thinks that the humor of these four comedians is juvenile and rather stupid, but trust me--the show sucks. See this movie. This is a documentary of one of the comedy shows the four comedians put on, and it is HYSTERICAL! I haven't laughed that much at any comedy routine ever. The great thing is that no matter how stupid a joke seems here, there is a level of intelligence. Even Larry the Cable Guy seems like a pretty smart guy when you think about it. This film is really, really funny. You have to see it.

My rating: 5 out of 5.

24's back.

24 has returned with the first four episodes of a the fourth season, and what a rocking new season it is!

I'm already addicted. The new cast members were exactly what the show needed. (as of this post, only three cast members from previous seasons have returned; Jack Bauer, Chloe O'Brian, and now-President Keeler). It's great to see the changes to the show.

My only complaint, if I had any, would be that the new cast at CTU does not have the interactions--the chemistry--the previous rosters of CTU members had. But that may just be because of the early portion of the season. I'm sure it'll get better. That isn't to say I don't like the new cast. I think the new boss is a perfect successor to Nina and Sherry as 24's femme fatale. I also immediatly felt sympathy for Edgar the moment that Chloe turned her sarcasm on him. Haven't decided about the black guy (whose name escapes me) who seems to have taken Tony's job, but the girl with the black hair is pretty damn hot. Maybe its just me.

All in all, this looks like it's going to be one kick-ass season, and you can bet I'll be watching every last second.

Four down, twenty to go.

(24AUN) Preview #5

Here's some more hints and previews about 24:AU.

--For those of you who read my other blog (http://www.jb24fiction.blogspot.com): (potential spoiler; highlight to read) the ongoing story of that blog is actually a prequel to AU.

--Hmmm...I like that inviso-text!

--I found as I wrote that I was a lot more reluctant to kill off the characters of the show than the characters I created. I also found that very few of my characters survived.

--(More inviso-text. Highlight to read): Nina Myers actually does play a role in this season; she doesn't die in the first episode. What was most fun was writing in angles for her betrayal earlier in the day. Because it was not decided until almost the end of the season that she was the traitor, they didn't do that with the real season, but since my audience already knows she's the mole, the fun is doing something different with that.

--I feel bad for Tony. He suffers a lot this season. :D

--Every season, toward the end of the season, a major bad guy is introduced; in season one it was Victor Drazen. In season two, it was Peter Kingsley. In season three, it was Stephen Saunders. In 24:AU, despite being the first season, I have added in my own major bad guy toward the end. His name is Kristov Scheich, and he is a German mercenary leader. His second-in-command--whose name escapes me for the moment--begins to have problems with Harris late in the season.

That's all for now, but now that I know how to use inviso-text, I may have to use it to slowly leak out spoilers on the series! :D

Movie Quick Review: Stealing Sinatra

Stealing Sinatra (2003)
Directed by Ron Underwood
Starring William H. Macy, David Arquette, Thomas Ian Nichols

My rating: 2 out of 5.

Simply put, this movie is BORING! It was promoted as a dark comedy, which implies that there is some humorous material in it. I didn't laugh in this movie. The acting wasn't all that great, the plot was pretty boring, and overall, I just hated it. Sorry, but I did. I like Macy, but this is NOT his best performance.

Happy New Season!

24 returns this Sunday!!!!!!!!!

(24AUN) I'm back! (Status 1/07)

The hiatus is over. I've started working on 24:AU again.

The big problem right now is that I realized that one of my storylines wasn't working out. I came up with a much better storyline to replace it, but that means I have to re-write about half of every episode from #6 on. And I still haven't finished the outline! 'Course, once I get that done, the actual scripts will go smoothly. Because of this story change, I've consolidated my proceses. I am now working on The Complete Outline exclusively, but don't worry. I know what I'm doing. I'll get this series done if it kills me.

And it probably will.

(I'm laughing at that, for more reasons than one!)
